Our founder Mats talks about how he specifically came to think about infrasound when no one else did...

Infrasonik was founded on a simple but powerful question: what if sound could be used to improve industrial processes in ways no one had explored before?
For decades, our founder Mats Olsson worked with infrasound—frequencies below human hearing—driven by a belief that this overlooked field held untapped potential. With no established theory or applications to rely on, the journey began from first principles, through experimentation, persistence, and a willingness to challenge conventional engineering.
The first real breakthrough came in an unexpected place: boiler cleaning. What started as a niche application quickly revealed something much bigger. Infrasound didn’t just clean — it could influence particle movement, enhance heat transfer, and fundamentally improve process efficiency. Early collaborations with industrial partners like Gestamp and later SSAB helped validate the technology in real-world environments. These tests marked a turning point, proving that infrasound could scale beyond the lab and deliver measurable impact in heavy industry.
Today, Infrasonik is building on that foundation — developing solutions that make industrial processes more efficient, more sustainable, and more controllable. What began as a curiosity-driven exploration has grown into a platform technology with applications across multiple industries.
And we’re just getting started.
